This area is set aside for those individuals, organizations, and actions that do not respect TWBD level of excellence and empowerment.

Sometimes, there are concepts or things that just make sense in general daily practice. Those which I believe are worthwhile will be presented here. While they may be broad generalizations, they can provide some general guidance from my perspective if that is what you seek.

RVs

Buy an RV after a rain storm.

I have enjoyed RV travel for almost twenty yars. IT began as a way to travel alone, safely, with my dogs. They were provided cool space when the outside temperatures was too warm for them, and I could stay with them overnight. As a motorized unit, if threatened or uncomfortable in one place, weather was threatening on the road, or I tired of driving and in need of a rest, I could simply find a spot to stay until I could travel once again. All I have to do was to move to the driver’s seat, start the engine, and move whenever it was necessary and I could stop as I thought best, as well.

I learned many things about RVs and selecting one over the years but I think the best advice is to buy an RV in the rain or after a large rain storm. If an RV has suffered water penetrating the outer structure, it is unlikely a unit that you want to travel or stay in. It is difficult to remediate that damage to make the unit desirable again.

Power Washers

Don’t buy one. Rental is a better alternative.

I purchase a power washer twice in my lifetime and, both times, they failed after a use of two. They were kept inside so they did not fail because of exposure to weather and were cleaned after each use. The same thing has happened to two friends.

For the amount of times an average person uses a power washer, it seems to me that renting one allows you to avoid the trouble of failure and the cost is much less in the long run. I now rent one in the spring to clean my deck and anything else needing freshening from the winter weather and have never regretted it.
